Fraser Fir Trees For SaleFraser Fir trees thrive best in Zones 3-7 Fraser Fir trees are very closely related to Balsam Fir trees, making them very similar in appearance and in characteristics. Typically growing to around 30 - 50 ft tall, the Fraser tree is one of the smaller, slower-growing Evergreen trees. The leaves of the Fraser Fir tree are somewhat different from other pine trees in that though they are needle-like, they are softer to the touch than they may look. This coupled with it's strong branches, shape, ability to retain needles, and pleasing fragrance it's no wonder that it is one of the most popular choices for the perfect Christmas tree and as such also enjoys wide use as an ornamental tree. The fraser tree is fairly tolerant of shade, though of course grows better in full sunlight. It also flourishes in more acidic, yet fertile, rocky and sandy soils that are moist and well-drained.
